The Predictions of Nostradamus

Michel de Nostradamus (14 Dec  21,1503  – 2 July 1566), was a French apothecary  as well as most respected seer that printed a series of prophecies  which have since turned out to be renowned throughout the world. He is  recognized mostly with regard to his publication Les Prophecies ("The Prophecies"),  1st release of which came out around 1555. Ever since the syndication of the book, which has seldom become out of print ever since his passing, Nostradamus has drawn a following which, together with the well-known media, credits him with predicting numerous significant world occurrences.

His followers say he predicted the French Revolution, the birth and rise to power of Hitler, and the assassination of John F. Kennedy. He also predicted other events, such as the Great Fire of London (1666) and the exile of Napoleon to Alba.

 A couple of his Quatrains that many believe have came true are:

Death of King Henry II

The young lion will overcome the older one,
On the field of combat in a single battle;
He will pierce his eyes through a golden cage,
Two wounds made one, then he dies a cruel death.

(Century 1, Quatrain 35)

During June 1559, Henry The second disregarded every warnings which Nostradamus presented him and then took part in a jousting match versus  Comte de Montgomery. The two men used shields embossed with lions. Montgomery had been 6 yrs younger compared to Henry.

In the course of the last round of battling in this event, Montgomery was unable to bring down his lance in time. It shattered, delivering a sizeable splinter thru the king’s gilded visor (golden cage). The end result had been a pair of mortal injuries (two wounds made one and then he will die a cruel death.) The first splinter spliced his eyes and the other impaled the forehead just in back of his eyes. Each of those splinters from the lance penetrated his brain. Henry was alive for 10 days in anguish, therefore satisfying the Nostradamus prediction in which he would certainly die some sort of cruel death.

The Great Fire in London

This particular prediction is one of the very few prophecies within the quatrains in which Nostradamus truly got the actual year perfectly.!

The blood of the just will be demanded of London,
Burnt by the fire in the year 66

(Century 2; Quatrain 51)

Upon Sunday morning, the second of September 1666, the devastation of old London started out with a single simple spark. Within five days the  fire demolished the town of Shakespeare. A region of 1 /12 miles by 1/2 a mile lay in ashes; 373 acres within the city walls as well as sixty three acres outside the town, eighty seven church buildings ruined (which includes St. Paul’s Cathedral) as well as over 13,000  homes.

A number of individuals find the "blood of the just" as this had been translated by the French language to imply that justice had been performed to the Black Death. The fire provided the town an important  assistance through eradicating  enormous amounts of rodents which had been carrying the Black plague through the city's populace.

All in all, Nostradamus made over 500 predictions.  Below are a couple videos that will provide more information on this remarkable man. Here is a great resource for more information on the predictions of Nostradamus.
